RacingLine Front Mount Intercooler Kit - Audi RS3 Quattro 8Y

The RacingLine Performance Intercooler keeps the 2.5TFSI engine breathing cool air, lap after lap and pull after pull. It is a direct upgrade designed to fix the well known heat soak issues of the factory cooler when the car is driven hard.

Why the factory intercooler struggles - The standard intercooler simply cannot keep up with the demands of a hard driven 2.5TFSI, especially on tuned cars. As intake air temperatures (IAT) climb, the ECU pulls timing and boost to protect the engine, which shows up as noticeable power loss during repeated runs or sustained driving. The factory unit then needs time to recover before it can deliver full performance again.

How the RacingLine intercooler fixes it - This is a large ‘plate and bar’ core, which is a more efficient construction than the cheaper ‘tube and fin’ design used by many aftermarket alternatives. The stepped core gives a 70% increase in volume over the factory unit, allowing it to absorb and dissipate far more heat. The result is consistently lower intake air temperatures, less heat soak, and far less waiting around for the cooler to recover between hard pulls.

RacingLine’s development focused on the balance between maximum cooling and minimum pressure loss. That means you get the bigger core without the lag penalty that often comes with oversized intercooler upgrades.
