At Rival Performance, we are proud to offer Engine Health Checks that help our customers ensure that their performance vehicles are operating at their best. Our Engine Health Checks are a comprehensive service that includes three critical tests: a borescope inspection, a compression test, and a smoke test.
The borescope inspection involves inserting a small camera, called a borescope, into the engine to visually inspect the condition of the internal components, such as the valves, cylinder walls, and pistons. This non-invasive test allows us to identify any visible signs of wear or damage, which can help us diagnose issues before they become major problems.
The compression test measures the engine's ability to create and maintain pressure in the combustion chamber. This test involves removing the spark plugs and screwing a pressure gauge into each cylinder, which allows us to determine if any cylinders are experiencing low compression. Low compression can indicate a range of issues, such as worn piston rings or valves, and can lead to a loss of engine power or misfires.
The smoke test involves introducing a harmless smoke into the engine to detect any air leaks or other issues with the engine's ventilation system. This test helps us identify any vacuum leaks or other issues that can lead to decreased performance or other problems down the road.
Each of these tests is important for ensuring that your performance vehicle is running smoothly and reliably. By identifying any issues early on, we can help prevent costly repairs down the line and keep your engine running at peak performance.
When you choose Rival Performance for your Engine Health Check, you can rest assured that our experienced technicians will use state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to provide a thorough and accurate assessment of your engine's health.
