RacingLine Diverter Valve - Audi RS3 Quattro 8P
The Racingline Diverter Valve is a direct replacement for the factory diverter valve and is a recommended upgrade for any driver who wants more reliable boost control, particularly on tuned cars where the original valve can struggle under sustained load.
The OEM valve uses a plastic body with a rubber diaphragm. It’s designed for quiet running and low production cost, but the diaphragm can deform, tear or fail entirely under raised boost pressures. When that happens, you’ll typically notice softer throttle response, surging or inconsistent power delivery, and a general loss of the sharpness your turbo should provide.
What this valve actually does - A diverter valve sits between the turbocharger and the throttle body. When you lift off the accelerator, it releases the pressurised air built up by the turbo back into the intake system, protecting the turbo and keeping boost ready for when you get back on the throttle. If it leaks or fails, that pressure escapes where it shouldn’t and performance drops.
Racingline’s replacement is CNC-machined from billet aluminium and uses a piston-based design rather than a diaphragm. The result is a valve that holds boost reliably, responds quickly, and won’t fatigue over time.
This is a worthwhile upgrade whether the car is completely standard, lightly remapped, or running a more aggressive Stage 1 or Stage 2 tune. On standard cars it adds long-term peace of mind. On mapped cars, where boost pressures are higher, it’s close to essential for keeping power delivery clean and consistent.
Importantly, this valve is engineered to run at similar sound levels to the factory unit. If you want the upgrade in reliability without the attention-seeking noise some aftermarket valves produce, this is a sensible choice.
Key Features:
- Billet aluminium construction for long-term durability
- Piston design eliminates the common diaphragm failure point
- Consistent boost holding, even on remapped cars
- Sharper throttle response and improved valve actuation
- OEM-style noise levels – no loud “whoosh” on lift-off
- Lifetime warranty from Racingline
