The AIRTEC Radiator is a must have when increasing the cars performance.

With huge experience in developing uprated radiators for a variety of modified track and road cars, AIRTEC chose to create a direct replacement radiator with a larger core to make the most of the space available in the original location.

As a result, the AIRTEC radiator offers a huge capacity increase, thanks to a core that measures 25% bigger than the standard BMW core.

Their lightweight radiator solution also features a tube-and-fin aluminium construction together with welded aluminium end tanks. This design increases the cooling system’s capacity as well as improving its efficiency, allowing it to retain lower running temperatures compared to an original unit during prolonged or hard use. It’s also suited to modified or track orientated vehicles that operate with constant higher temperatures, or for hotter climate countries, where cooling can be an issue.

Designed as a direct replacement item, fitting is a simple process, making it a great addition to improve cooling.

TESTED - In June 2025, AIRTEC attended a two day, back-to-back test in order to collect data as part of the track testing programme for their newly developed E9x M3 cooling package; in particular the radiator and power steering cooler. For this, they used their AIRTEC Motorsport demonstrator vehicle, which is equipped with an uprated exhaust system and sports cats, a remap, KW V3 suspension, AP Racing brakes and a semi-slick tyre set up, among other modifications and driven by this season’s Time Attack driver Alan Shepherd. 

The first day would entail data logging with the standard radiator in place, before swapping over to their AIRTEC Motorsport radiator for the next day and repeating the same process. Each radiator was run for two track sessions and coolant temperature was measured with an external thermocouple sensor with an advanced sampling rate.

With the standard radiator AIRTEC saw an average temperature of 91.4°C and with the AIRTEC Motorsport aluminium radiator AIRTEC saw an average of 83.9°C, resulting in an average reduction of 7.5°C or 9% reduction in coolant temperature, the maximum temperature difference being 10.7°C!
