AIRTEC are proud to launch their Aluminium Under Tray Panel for track or fast road use.

What does an under tray do? - The under tray has three main purposes: to protect the underside of the vehicle from foreign objects flicking up and causing damage or accelerated wear. Secondly, to improve aerodynamics by creating a low pressure area as air accelerates past its smooth surface. This reduces drag, which works towards improving grip, handling as well as fuel efficiency.

Lastly, on performance models, the under tray often provides increased cooling by either venting cold air to, or extracting warm air from the engine bay. Therefore improving the strength, design, size and cooling effect can offer fantastic benefits.  

AIRTEC's Solution - The original Clio 197 and 200 under tray is very short and covers just a small area of the car’s underside. It is made from thin plastic and features a single cooling guide directed at the transmission. By creating a direct replacement under tray in 2mm aluminium began with a full 3D scan of the vehicle’s underside to ensure a perfect fitment. AIRTEC quickly identified the design of the under tray could be dramatically extended to cover a larger area and this huge increase in surface area would create a beneficial aerodynamic improvement. 

The air vent was retained but increased in size and additional venting was also added to help create more air flow within the engine bay to further improve cooling. It reuses all original mounting points and fixings as well as extra points further back, offering improved strength and protection for the underside of the car.

Finished in a high-quality black powder coat finish, the under tray offers improved strength, durability and cooling effectiveness.

PLEASE NOTE: The under tray uses existing mounting points so it is essential the original fittings are in good condition and have a clean thread. If they are worn or damaged they should be replaced with new items, as failure to do so may cause the under tray to work loose.
